United Way’s vision for Ogemaw County is to transform the quality of life in our community. We are on a mission to cultivate partnerships in our communities that will change the lives of children and families through education, financial stability and healthy living.
The Ogemaw County United Way was born of necessity in 1986. It was created by men and women of good will in our community to strengthen our community’s ability to solve health and general welfare problems in an expeditious manner.
Recognizing that the need in any community is constantly changing due to its current circumstances, the Ogemaw County United Way is committed to supporting local organizations, already established in the community, whose purpose is to meet that current need. Ogemaw County United Way is dedicated to helping the helpers.
It is a long and well-established tenet of the United Way’s position that the creation and funding of agencies are not ends in themselves, but a means of serving and improving the quality of community life. The Ogemaw County United Way is always seeking to support the service organizations’ citizens’ most need. Because it has a legitimate and overriding concern for the people and the problems they face, Ogemaw County United Way provides funding to assist local charities in resolving real problems people experience and in so doing it will help make Ogemaw County a better place to live and work.
Any one of us might need help from one of the agencies Ogemaw County United Way supports. In Ogemaw County, Untied Way agencies provide funding to organizations who contribute more than 100 programs to help with community problems related to health, housing, family, youth and senior citizens.
The Ogemaw County United Way is uniquely suited to respond to the local community’s emerging needs. The Ogemaw County United Way Board is made up of Ogemaw County residents who live and work in the area and are familiar with the special needs of our community. Monies can therefore be directed to organizations making the biggest positive impact in the community.
The Ogemaw County United Way is fiscally responsible with your donated funds. The Ogemaw County United Way is comprised of local volunteers, who raise and disperse funds to local agencies that provide services to community members in Ogemaw County under the national Untied Way mission and supervision. None of your donated dollars to Ogemaw County United Way are spent on wages or to pay staff. By keeping administrative costs down, more funding for local non-profits is available for disbursement.
PLEASE HELP THE OGEMAW COUNTY UNITED WAY IN IT’S MISSION BY MAKING YOUR PLEDGE TODAY.
